El Kama Sutra es un antiguo texto hindú que trata sobre el comportamiento sexual del hombre. Considerado como el trabajo básico sobre el amor en la literatura sánscrita. Fue escrito por Vatsyayana. El título completo es Vātsyāyana Kāma-sÅ«tra (’Los aforismos sobre la sexualidad, de Vatsyayana’). Cronológicamente se sitúa al autor entre el primer siglo y el sexto, probablemente durante el periodo Gupta.
